hese are details from an illustration I made for a short story about a Portland shopping mall (and the smells of it, like caramel apples) springing out of a hole in the ground in the late 1950s. It’s entirely cut out of construction paper and glued to a paste-up board. Click the full image below for a high-resolution view. I mean, only if you want to, y’know. (And, in case you’re wondering, I cut out some 400 little, tiny leaves for this project).
